This is a design of a Goldfield Visitor Centre located in Castlemaine. The site is the remnants of a gold mine in Castlemaine 2 h east of Melbourne. It is significant as the site of the alluvial gold rush have many remnant buildings and beacause the infrastructure is still intact. The brief was to design a Visitor Centre as a way of ordering access arrival and entry into the park consitent of serval small buildings and landscape components for the divers park users. The keypoints which I focused on in this project was framing views towards specific key features on the site, ground relationship between buildings and the ground, threshold between buildings and the blending of the pavillions into the landscape and it´s history.
