The key focus in this studio was more towards the technical side of architecture, how a building actually come together and how to document it properly. The design concept I had was the idea of stacking precast concrete panels on top of each other. However doing this differently, so that the modular facade is adjusted according to the direction the facade faces. For example the northern facade is deep to avoid the harch Australian sun, while the southern facade is much more narrow. The eastern facade is angled to avoid the afternoon sun, but letting in the morning sun. The air condition system in this building is integrated into the modular units, making the facade very clean. In terms of planning the tower maximizes the open office area, keeping all the services into one central core, but still being compliant with the building code of Australia.
